i've got a crush on you.

people i have random and not as pronounced crushes on:

tom hiddleston
like loki from thor. and f scott fitzgerald from midnight in paris.
i follow him on twitter and, i don't know, i just think he is so adorable and down to earth. have i seen the avengers yet? no. don't remind me. but please partake in this hilarious interview slash video so you all know what i mean when i say lokiiiii'd!!!
matthew perry
probably because of chandler bing from friends. or maybe because he is the old version of zac efron (see 17 again). i just love him so much. i also follow matthew on twitter and i think i get more excited for his tweets than anyone else's. he is probably in the top ten celebrities i would want to meet. and he's coming out with a new show! who's excited? this guy. girl. i'm a girl.
seth meyers
i kind of think he is adorable. from weekend update to new year's eve, i just want to listen to his wit and stare at his blazingly beautiful smile. all day. everyday. slash be his best friend.
spock
my friends have been watching all the star treks and i have tagged along a couple times... and i have come to the conclusion that between spock's deep voice and his tortured logical soul, you just cannot go wrong. and don't even get me started on his eyebrows. i would live long and prosper with him for eternity.

magic soaking my spine

lately i have felt a hole in my soul that can only be fixed by the killers, specifically their new album which isn't due out for at least six more months. recently watching them perform on the oc circa 2004 just about gave me a heart attack of joy and i also remembered it has been a year since the last time i saw brandon perform live. so, i have resorted to looking up videos and i decided to share some for your pleasure.
bless you brandon. and your face.

i only super bowl for the food.

after giving a super relief society lesson on sunday, i hitched a ride up to draper for the super bowl. i may have had to ask who was playing. and who won. what can i say. i'm not on top of the nfl this year [slash ever].
thank you danny duke for the good eats, nice seats, and great company, including mine bestie, sarahmaines. needless to say, it was good times and there was much needed catching up.
when i got back to provo, i found myself on a couch being serenaded by these two lovely men.
thanks guys. you will go far in life.

it's raining, men.

i have recently become obsessed with old men. yes. i just said those words.

harrison ford.
homeboy knows what's up. he had me at 'uh, everything's fine, situation normal' in star wars and 'i hate snakes!' as indiana jones. basically he is the ultimate bad a slash good guy and i love him for it. if i ever tell a guy i love him and he responds 'i know', i will marry him on the spot, no questions asked. also, archeologists are now at the top of my list of people i need to date asap.
robert redford.
before there was brad pitt, there was robert redford. (although, the resemblance is uncanny). robert's perfectly coiffed hair, intellectual spirit, and variety of characters make for a man you cannot deny. he is a baseball genius in the natural, a smooth swindler in the sting, and the cowboy i would like to take me away in butch cassidy and the sundance kid. and then he gives michelle pfeiffer a foot massage in up close and personal. stop it right now.
colin firth.
there is a reason that it was divinely decided long ago that colin firth should play mr. darcy. honestly, if you have not seen the bbc version of pride and prejudice, do yourself a favor and buy some ice cream, pizza, a super soft blanket, and set aside five hours as soon as humanly possible in order to right this wrong. and then do not even get me started on the king's speech, the importance of being earnest, love actually, and what a girl wants.
the end.

fin.

well. i finished. and it was epically awesome. just kidding. not really. i went to cafe rio and yogurtland after i finished my last test to celebrate #duh. that part was epically awesome.
now i'm back in st george and i discovered i left both my laptop and scriptures in provo. what? how is that even possible? well it is. don't worry though. i didn't forget to bring my computer charger and scripture highlighter. awesome. this is called paying attention to detail.
so i probably won't get any solid posts in until saturday night. my friend is bringing my stuff down, bless his beautiful soul. until then then i will be reading, hanging out with my mother, and this guy:
have you guys been watching 'once upon a time'? if not, repent now, get on hulu, and let your soul soak in the amazingness that is fairy godmothers, princes slaying dragons, and true love's kiss. classic fairytales at their best.

why i love my leather jacket.

brandon wears leather jacket. ahlin loves brandon. ahlin loves leather jacket.
ahlin wants to have an hsm slash zac efron marathon. ahlin has a leather jacket wearing marathon instead.
everyone on vampire diaries wears a leather jacket. ere go, ahlin wears her leather jacket.
it is cold outside. leather jacket cures all.
and ahlin enjoys thinking she looks pretty bad a.
the end.

consider me entertained.

so i recently started watching parks and recreation... which i also recently finished.
it is so good! i think it's safe to say it is one of my new favorite shows. it is brilliant. i want to be every single character. seriously, i cannot decide who i love most. leslie is so inspiring, chris is so optimistic, andy is so genuine, ron is freaking hilarious, ben is such a cute nerd, and april/andy's relationship slays me.
i also want to live in pawnee. which is saying a lot because the north midwest has never appealed to me [sorry my minnesota friends]. not to mention it makes me super excited for my internship, because i am pretty sure it is an exact representation of an actual parks and recreation department. #sarcasm
i wasn't expecting to get so attached to this show. it has pretty much taken over my thoughts.
this kind of made me die of laughter.
so that's pretty much what i've been doing for the past week.

i also saw something borrowed over the weekend. twice.
i don't know why, i just loved it! actually, i will tell you why: 1) gorgeous man colin egglesfield. like. whoa. dude is hot. 2) his character had the best 'love eyes' slash facial expressions... i don't really know how else to phrase that but you know what i mean. 3) hilarious slash adorable man john krasinski. dude is hilarious in this. his mannerisms were brilliant. 4) the amazing men's fashion. seriously, everything those two wore was pulled right out of my future husband's closet. suits and preppy clothes. my cup o' tea. 5) i'm pretty sure i lived on the east coast in another life because it is my dream. i love everything about it. 6) i love watching best friendships. i remember when i was younger always wanting that one best friend who knew you better than anyone and you could call for anything.
this movie just made me think a lot. i still would go see it again. and i am definitely reading the book.

le sigh.

i will also be watching this in the fall. #girlcrush

for my soul.

i've decided to live. enjoy moments and grab opportunities. you know, live life to the fullest and such.
i think this was my first attempt with my new manifesto.

i've known that brandon flowers was going to perform in las vegas for a couple months now but i figured since it was on the day finals start it would be silly and probably stupid to go. but at the beginning of the week my desire to go just got stronger and stronger. especially since the last few days of classes were crazy stressful.
thursday i looked up tickets. they were in my price range! then i found out this was his last show until june, because the killers are going back to the studio to record their new album [finally!] and his tour in summer looks like it's going to be all european music festivals.
how could i not go?!
so after some thinking and support [anna, lauren, mom] and some eye rolls [roommates] i decided it was a brilliant idea. i would even get back in time to take my finals. and it got even better when my mom said she would go with me! now someone else can behold the amazingness that is bf in the flesh.

friday after some studying and cleaning, i drove down to st george and hung out with my family and adam ruri. love that guy, so good to see him, enjoy some fun conversation and yummy golden spoon.
saturday i slept in, got ready and then my mom and i headed down to vegas for a day o' fun.
we saw some runway [fashion show mall]
ate some yummy food [nordstrom cafe], and did some shopping [forever 21]
then we went to the house of blues [mandalay bay] for the concert.
watching my mom get metal detectored was nothing short of hilarious. and standing right next to a bar? also priceless #thingsineverthoughtiwoulddowithmymother
we were standing in the perfect place. we were level with the stage, right in front of a banister, no one was obstructing our view [craning my neck is a pet peeve] and we didn't have to stand in a crowd of drunk weirdos. win win win.
after about an hour and a half brandon came out and starting singing 'welcome to fabulous las vegas'. holy cow. perfection. who gets to go to brandon's last show, in his hometown, which is also the subject of his album and hear him sing that song? oh hi. me. please listen/watch here.
he sang the viva las vegas song too. so great.
we were insanely close. we could see every facial expression. he has so much power in his voice, it was a whole other experience to see the emotions on his face as he sang.
p.s. his vest slays me.
needless to say, it was incredible. the second he was on stage i knew i did not regret my decision one bit.
here's to living.

st. patrick's day

four years ago today. i met zac efron.
that is now the only thing i associate with st. patrick's day.
