twenty three.

sarahmainesduke is twenty three and i can only celebrate with her in spirit.

some fun facts some of you may or may not know about sarah:

- she is an incredible artist. not just a creative person, she has actual artistic abilities that come out of her hands and onto whatever medium she pleases. she has a drawing that was in her room that i loved and then i found out she drew it and then i had a even bigger testimony of sarah's coolness.

- she loves cow tales. you know, that old almost chalky candy that you can't decide whether you like or not? also, why is it called cow tales? are they telling you a story? no. no they are not.

- she loves soccer. like she really truly enjoys watching it. that made the 2010 world cup a lot of fun, let me tell you. it also made it super awesome when she met her husband who is, to put it mildly, a soccer fanatic. presh.

- yes. her hair really is that beautiful in real life. as is her face and her spirit.

love you smd. one day we'll live in the same time zone again and it will be magic and birthdays will not go without birthday hugs and we will live [even more] happily ever after forever.

christmas: 2012 edition.

i woke up before the four year old // waiting to come upstairs for presentsss // the awesome apron my mother made for me // laken telling hello kitty stories through her karaoke machine // my bad a t swift t shirt // matt singing love story through his daughter's karaoke machine // me and nik // les mis. my heart.

christmas eve was full of christmas pj's, christmas treats, christmas songs, and some healthy competition, provided by spouses wrestling and a ping pong tourney. we were having so much fun we didn't realize how late it was until we went to bed at two in the morning. sorry not sorry.

before christmas.

our 12/12/12 chrismakkuh party happened and it was a hit. hot chocolate, treats, snowflake making, and we had everyone write down advice for their twelve year old selves. hilarious stuff.

valentina turned twenty four! we went to dinner and went back to her apartment for cake and dancing. i made a funfetti cake using diet cherry 7up instead of eggs and oil. and might i add, it was delicious.

a roommate [plus valentina who is basically a roommate] christmas happened. and to put it lightly, i totally scored. two yogurtland gift cards, an awesome notebook, a star wars kids book [be still my heart], some nail polish, and a beautiful iphone cover. what did i do to deserve such thoughtful friends?

i am a huge fan of consecutive numbers. or any patterns of numbers really. i get this from my dad, i'm sure. remember my eleven eleven eleven adventure last year? it was a big deal and it was kind of amazing. these consecutive dates aren't going to happen again until january 1st, 2101. i can't even comprehend that right now.

 

this year my roommates are having a 12/12/12 chrismakkuh extravaganza. it is bound to be legendary. i will give details of the party later. just know that ugly sweaters and my christmas socks are involved. for now, i will list twelve things i love about my life at the moment:

1. everything the killers have given me this year.
2. my beautiful and apartment and bedroom.
3. the fact that i get to see my family in ten [!!!] days. should the world choose not to end.
4. and i get to see the killers in seventeen days.
5. learning that things can change drastically in a short amount of time.
6. robin sparkles, my spirit animal rav4.
7. my rediscovered love for reading and writing.
8. the velvet taco.
9. my family and friends who love and support me and think it's awesome i live in texas.
10. i live in texas.
11. being gently reminded that you never get to stop making friends.
12. learning that i really can have great control over my life and attitude.
