christmas eve.

 

 

christmas eve was full of christmas pj's, christmas treats, christmas songs, and some healthy competition, provided by spouses wrestling and a ping pong tourney. we were having so much fun we didn't realize how late it was until we went to bed at two in the morning. sorry not sorry.

gina turns twenty one.

it was georgina's birthday on sunday. we had church and jade's famous indian chicken and renn's famous brownies and my famous picture strings. jk they're not that famous. but they are awesome.

confession: i started listening to christmas music on november second. sorry i'm not sorry. it has put me in a noticeably better mood and has made me happy and i am pretty sure pandora's michael buble (holiday) station is changing my life.

so with all the rando christmas music i have been listening to, i have noticed some pretty amazingly weird slash horrifying christmas album art. everyone wants to be different when it comes to the holidays, which is tough because everyone is doing the same thing. so apparently they take it out on their album covers. here are a few faves:

nat, sir, i love you, but could you look any more creepy with the shoulders and the eyebrow and the children peeking from beside you? what are those children doing? are they trying to escape? i don't know.

ok these dudes look crazy but they are actually amazing and awesome and they are a country gospel group that have been around for forty years. beard.

 exhibit a: flames. like hell. exhibit b: those crazy stockings on some crazy woman's legs and she is sticking a tree down there? what is happening. exhibit c: this is a frank sinatra song. he is way to classy for this shiz. exhibit d: this is volume six. i am scared to see the previous five.

 harry is looking grungy and sad. this is probably right after he kissed hilary swank and it felt weird and he is sad about it in 'ps i love you'.

 i don't know who this dude is but i do know that there is a random child hanging on him and that it is so weird and out of place. who is she? is she his child? why is she trying to choke him?

 put some clothes on, colbie. this is christmas for pete's sake.

utah: wedding day.

it is safe to say that this is a wedding i have been waiting for my entire life. and it did not disappoint. between getting all dolled up, waiting at the temple with the kiddos, watching niki and renn come out of the temple, and the amazing reception to follow, there is actually nothing that could have made it better. 

shout out to renn for letting me stop him and square up so i could take this shoe pic.

hung out with these guys until the reception. on the way back to the car, track asked me why i live so far away. good question! why can't i have my whole family live on one street so we can play together and laugh together and eat together all the time?? i guess that is what my heaven will look like.

4 - [tumblr - just say amen already] a tumblr blog that shares the sometimes cynical, always hilarious real life ways of being mormon. credit to anna for the find.

5 - [timehop] get an email every morning with what you did on twitter, facebook, and or instagram on that day a year ago. they are pretty fun to read, i'm not gonna lie. it just shared this one and it made me laugh out loud for real. several times.

even though it was a four day work week, i am so ready for the weekend and all its netflix, no pants, sleep in glory. so for your friday pleasure, i leave you with some of my favorites from the week. yay.

goodbyes: part brutsch.

for the last week i've been saying my goodbyes which has been pretty hard. even with all the ways to keep in touch these days there is nothing like knowing you have the people you love within a few minutes walk or drive. so i'm going to break it up into a few posts. starting with the brutsches.

i'm going to miss these babies so much. i've lived in provo basically their entire lives. i can't imagine not watching them grow up before my eyes. and lauren and ben have been so nice to be near also, driving me around, feeding me, watching some late night movies. i'm going to miss the brutsch bunch.

so i ran a half marathon almost two years ago... and it turns out that fact has a coolness [and fitness] expiration date. so i am training for another one. possibly the utah valley half, possibly another. i just know if i want to do one this summer, i need to start training soon.
i am putting my schedule on the sidebar, partly so i have to answer to it since it is public and partly so you can see how i am going about it and join in if you wish.
also, whenever i see this i think, yeah, basically:
