packing + cleaning + finals + moving = something i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy

make do or do without.

i was cleaning my room last week when i realized i had a lot of clothes that i either a) have worn maybe twice in the many years i have owned them or b) have worn so much it has led to their imminent death and for some reason i thought there was a chance for their resurrection. so before i could justify or think too much, i grabbed all the clothes that fell into these two categories and threw them onto my bed.

it was definitely a liberating and cleansing feeling getting them all out of my closet [not to mention i finally have an even hanger to clothing ratio]. on saturday i finally took them to deseret industries and checked it off my to do list. it's refreshing to look at my closet and know that i would actually wear every single thing. i highly recommend it.

here are some favorites that needed to go:

long weekend.

if i could label this [much needed] long weekend i'd call it #familytime. or #biebertime. 'cause, let's face it, i haven't listened to anything else since neversaynever.

friday i had rubio's with my sister lauren and her kids, luci and cason. later that night i went to their house and watched 'red' and 'eat pray love' with lauren and ben. i heart bonding over movies.

apparently luci refused to let lauren put her headband in. or fix it. so cute.

i love case. while i was eating he unbuttoned his shirt and showed me that he was wearing the stripling warriors mamas boys t shirt i gave him for christmas. it was so cute and i was shocked that he actually remembered.

saturday, after an annoying test that i did not want to take but did anyway cause i'm a responsible grown up university student, i went up to salt lake and hung out with my sisters, kendall and niki.

can i just say i love my sisters? they are all amazing and i am so lucky to live by all of them [minus gina. boo.]

oh yeah and sarah cut my bangs friday night. and i've gotten about eighteen billion compliments on them. i think i'll let them stay for a while...

heidi and amanda dressed exactly the same by pure accident. it was kind of hilarious.

 sunday i went to a church meeting, then church, then another sacrament meeting for layton's farewell talk [which was so good]. i heart church. then i took a nap, visited my sweet grandma and headed over to lauren's house to hang out with the fam. my dad and brother blake are in town, it's so nice to spend time with them.

 monday morning i got up bright and early for breakfast at kneaders with everyone. kneaders equals yummy french toast goodness in my belly.

the kids [and ben] showed us their angry birds skills. i'm pretty sure they could beat me any day.

 blake left flew back to california yesterday afternoon. i wish all my family could live by me so i could be with them all the time. i think it's safe to say they are my favorite people on earth. 

 after a long day of homework, running and cleaning i think i might be able to take this week head on.

i hope your president's day weekend was awesome too.

the honest truth.

this is what happens with you take accounting 200 and econ 110 in the same semester:

you end up keeping your clean clothes on your bed when you sleep because you have no time to put them away.

not a proud time for me right now.

good news minute.

first off [because, priorities guys] i finished friends!

yes. i have now seen all 10 seasons aka 236 episodes of friends.

and it was worth every minute of it.

it was hard, ya know...

getting teased for 'wasting my time' and sitting around doing 'nothing', blah blah blah

but i did it. and i loved it.

and please don't ask me who my favorite 'friend' is. that's like asking which of my [notyetexistent] children i love the most. you're really going to make me choose? for shame.

 

next. something bittersweet.

i had to get a new backpack because my old one is dying.

my eight year old, not quite black any more, weathered and worn, perfectly formed to my back clive.

it has served me well. from middle school to high school to college.

i used to think my red two pocket jansport was cooler. oh was i wrong.

but this baby has been my companion through thick and thin. and now it is time for him to retire before he is completely useless.

 

but this does mean that i got to get a new backpack. and for 50% off might i add [backpacks are expensive yo. who knew].

i was going to go for a two pocket jansport again but they didnt have any plain black ones and i'm not really into super distinctive bright patterned ones right now. i like to keep my backpacks chill, like myself. i like them to say 'maybe you've seen me before, maybe you haven't. i'm pretty easy going and i match with everything. so pretty much i'm awesome.' yes. i put that much thought into it.

so i bought this guy. i think he will serve me well.

 

he even has a secret skateboard holder. which is good, due to all the skateboarding i do.

 

good news number three.

i got my room all moved in and decorated! i heart decorating so it was pretty exciting. even though i'm not half as creative as most people i like what i did. it kind of looks like my last room but with a few changes...

here are some shots of my new room. i'm so in love with this apartment. my own room, washer/dryer, parking spot, two minute walk to campus... does it get any better? i submit that it does not.

many thoughts monday? no, i'm too scared to start segments, i don't think i could keep up!
anyway, i do have some things i want to cover...
1 - thank you chelsea for giving me (along with some other lovely ladies) the happy 101 blogger award! that is so great! i've never gotten a blog award before :D
2 - ok i thought this was kinda crazy cool, but while i was taking pictures of it people were looking at me weird. i saw a black duck today. yes. a black duck. is it just me or are there no black ducks in this world? it blew my mind. and i don't even like ducks. i'll post a picture of it later...
3 - i am so lucky to live so close to family. i have three sisters up here and a grandma, plus my house is a short three hour drive. i got to spend some time with my oldest sister kendall this weekend. we went and saw alice in wonderland (which i liked. so colorful! not a kid's show though...). it was so good to see her!

4 - my friends are pretty cool. we have bonfires. and we watch movies. and we give hugs. and we laugh. a lot.

5 - smelling good is better than looking good. i've decided.
6 - i love getting my monthly card from my father. sometimes his handwriting is the best thing i could possibly lay eyes on.
7 - my mother gave me tonsss of quarters. for laundry. i rather be spending them on a gumballs in a gumball machine. but it's cool.
8 - i heart the killers. still.
9 - the song alice by avril lavigne (yes. i'm a avrilover.) from the almost alice soundtrack is a new fave.
10 - i should be writing a paper right now. mah bad...

cleanliness. it's nice.

we have been needing to do the dishes. for like the past two days.

so i decided it was high time for me to do them (i've been slacking lately. i'm not gonna lie). and our sink was just so colorful with our [dirty] dishes i couldn't help but take a before and after...

don't you just love the feeling right after you clean and your home looks amazing?
too bad life happens and that only lasts for .2 seconds! :)
