it's the most wonderful time of the year.

it's that time again, folks. that time that spreads christmas cheer because my boys are singing loud for all to hear. that's right. the seventh annual christmas single from the killers. all the proceeds of every purchase of these songs on itunes goes to (RED), the AIDS foundation. and every single single is golden.

this year they opted for a sequel to their previous christmas single from 2007, 'don't shoot me santa claus'. a classic, combining comedy and awkwardness until it becomes perfection. below are both videos. my how they have changed. and my love for them is ever growing.

ps 24 days until i get to see them in the flesh in their hometown. can't even stand it.

i know i know, i'm like three years behind jumping on this bandwagon. [although, i would argue that i knew about her before she got popular. yeah. i went there.] but i just watched some of her live concert dvd from royal albert hall and she really is amazing. this was one i love and have had on repeat. watch out, she says the f word right at the beginning. i don't know if it counts though because her accent is so thick. yeah.

confession: i started listening to christmas music on november second. sorry i'm not sorry. it has put me in a noticeably better mood and has made me happy and i am pretty sure pandora's michael buble (holiday) station is changing my life.

so with all the rando christmas music i have been listening to, i have noticed some pretty amazingly weird slash horrifying christmas album art. everyone wants to be different when it comes to the holidays, which is tough because everyone is doing the same thing. so apparently they take it out on their album covers. here are a few faves:

nat, sir, i love you, but could you look any more creepy with the shoulders and the eyebrow and the children peeking from beside you? what are those children doing? are they trying to escape? i don't know.

ok these dudes look crazy but they are actually amazing and awesome and they are a country gospel group that have been around for forty years. beard.

 exhibit a: flames. like hell. exhibit b: those crazy stockings on some crazy woman's legs and she is sticking a tree down there? what is happening. exhibit c: this is a frank sinatra song. he is way to classy for this shiz. exhibit d: this is volume six. i am scared to see the previous five.

 harry is looking grungy and sad. this is probably right after he kissed hilary swank and it felt weird and he is sad about it in 'ps i love you'.

 i don't know who this dude is but i do know that there is a random child hanging on him and that it is so weird and out of place. who is she? is she his child? why is she trying to choke him?

 put some clothes on, colbie. this is christmas for pete's sake.

awake is better than asleep.

i have been listening to battle born streaming through itunes [still can't own it until the eighteenth] and it is almost too good to be true. i am actually sad that i have to go to bed because that means i can't listen to them anymore and it might not be there in the morning. how have i made it all these years without this? and how will i last until tuesday to have it all for myself? i honestly don't know. i have so many feelings i don't know what to do with myself.

i'd actually like to stay awake through the entire month of september, thanks though.

this is only the most important month of my life. september equals labor day, all my tv shows coming back, cooler weather [maybe?], mere weeks until i see my family in utah for the wedding of the season, and, lastbutnotleastmostimportantactually, the killers are coming out with their first album in four years. 

my soul has been waiting for this for a very long time and i don't really know how it will react. wait, yes i do: pure ecstatic joy, the kind where there is so much goodness to soak in you don't even know where to start. i might cry, i will scream, and there is nothing that will be running through this girl's mind besides the lyrics that i can only imagine will throw me into a state of unadulterated euphoria.

anyway.... they have been releasing 'teaser trailers' for their upcoming album so i thought i would share the finished product that came out this week on this glorious first day of september. let the countdown begin! [haha jk i've been counting down for months.]

there are probably two people on this earth who actually understand and fully accept the love i have for brandon. one of them is anna and the other is my future husband who is somewhere around here and i have yet to meet.

yep, i am just going to continue being a terrible blogger by giving a bullet point post right now. sorry i'm not sorry. but i will definitely be catching up with posts in the near future. [promisepromisepromise.]

• if we don't all know already, my sister niki is engaged and i could not be more happy or obsessed with her future. i may have cried for half an hour when they told me. it's fine.
• this means i will be coming out to utah in october! i am so excited, i honestly think about it all the time. it is going to be party central and crazy times will be had by all.
• i signed up for a half marathon, also in october. i'm pretty excited since it's been two years [almost exactly] since my last one. and it's in downtown dallas. cool!
• kind of on that note, i decided to give up meat for a while. it's not that i am against it, it's kind of the opposite actually. i find myself eating it a lot, especially when i eat out. so i'm just going on a hiatus for an indefinite amount of time. plus it's new. new things are fun.
• also going off treats and fast food for a bit. i just figure this will help with the half training.
• you better believe i pre-ordered the killers' new album, battle born: deluxe edition. i would rather starve for a week than not have that album as soon as i possibly can. [exaggeration.] [maybe.] [no it's not.]
• currently obsessed with: 

1. joshua radin [on repeat. all. the. time.] 
2. the office [again.] [jim and pam.] [sigh.]
3. going to bed before ten
4. my gasbuddy app [it has definitely saved me time and money searching for the nearest, cheapest gas.]
5. changing all my profile pictures to the same picture. clean and nice. ah.

welp. that about sums it up. and it is 9:30 and time for bed. my 6 am runs require it. [humble brag. or fishing for compliments? meh.]

also, for those who are concerned for my health and well-being, i have bought myself some sweat resistant bug spray to protect myself from the thirsty and carnivorous mosquitos carrying west nile. fear not! i am prepared. like a boy scout.

the killers came out with their first single in four years yesterday called 'runaways' and i made it my personal goal to listen to it as many times as possible while i was at work. [what is eight hours divided by four minutes? boom.] and of course, i love it.

it starts out sounding a lot like brandon flowers' 'crossfire', which makes sense since he was writing that for the killers anyway. it goes on with a hopeful feeling and then bursts into a full techno rock adventure early and keeps it up throughout the whole song.

i can see myself running to this song, blasting it in the car, or having a punch dance party for one. to put it lightly, i am obsessed and i can't wait to see what else they have in store come fall!

[seriously though. i cannot wait. this is a slow torture i can't get out of. this song is the closest thing to a cure. #onrepeat]

magic soaking my spine

lately i have felt a hole in my soul that can only be fixed by the killers, specifically their new album which isn't due out for at least six more months. recently watching them perform on the oc circa 2004 just about gave me a heart attack of joy and i also remembered it has been a year since the last time i saw brandon perform live. so, i have resorted to looking up videos and i decided to share some for your pleasure.
